Lille Zoo - The best place to the weekends with family - Lille Zoo France

Lille zoo is one of the most visited places in Lille. It is Lille’s biggest park and also the most famous one. Every year millions of visitors visit this zoo. There is no-entry fee here, which makes it the best Freebie of the beautiful city.

Lille Zoo is located at Parc Zoologique de Lille, Avenue Mathias Delobel, and 59800 Lille, France. Lille Zoo is one of the fantastic offerings in France. In fact, it receives approximately 1.6 million visitors each year. This exciting zoo location is situated in the midst of Citadel Park. The contrast here is that Lille Zoo is in the very center of the city.

The animals here make this a fantastic day trip location. You will find 300 animals at Lille Zoo, and 100 different species. This is the largest zoo attraction in this area. There are other components to this wonderful zoo location. Children especially enjoy the playground area. It is a good idea to check operating hours, when you visit Lille during these months. There is also children’s play ground and picturesque walks along the banks of the canal.

In a 3-hectare park you can see a whole host of wild animals: tropical birds, curious little carnivores, lemurs, South American primates, reptiles and various mammals.

Anyone who is passionate about nature or just curious will enjoy this lovely outing. Snakes, bats, tortoises and tiny monkeys such as ouistitis and tamarins can be seen in the tropical house. Open daily, and free.

It is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in the summer (until 7:00pm on weekends) and from 10am 5pm in the winter. It closes annually from the second Sunday of December on the second Sunday of Friday.

The cub corner, located next to the zoo, is a permanent fun fair for children. It is open daily from 2pm to 7pm.   

How to get reach Lille zoo?

metro (station Porte De Douai - but it's like an half of hour of walking afterward) or by bus Line 14, and the A1 and A22 auto routes.  

Entrance is free, and if the weather is good, take advantage of its beautiful location, and enjoy the surrounding gardens and greenery.
