Rare Mountain Gorillas | Gorilla Twins born in Rwanda.

Every one who visit Africa and have a Gorilla safari either in Rwanda, Uganda or Congo can’t remain the same and most of them say that the entire experience is so wonderful that it can’t be compared to all other travels all over the world. Besides, one needs a gorilla permit to track Gorillas. The permit booking has to be made in advance to avoid disappointment due to high demand and stiff competition for them. Still one has to book with payment on the basis of first come first serve. This has to be done preferably at least 10 months for the high seasons - June-September and December-February; or latest 4-6 months in advance for the low seasons - October-November and March-May. Each gorilla park (Bwindi and Mgahinga in Uganda, Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda and Virungas Gorilla Park Congo) has different numbers of permits per day but only 8 people are allowed to track each Gorilla family in Uganda while Rwanda allows more than 8 per day per group in each of the gorilla tours.

There are several unique Mountain Gorilla features which always spark the imagination of man all over the world .Most gorillas live in inaccessible regions in various dense forests in tropical Africa, and only in the last 30 years have scientists learned details of their life in the wild. Every day, every year and every month many people plan to visit Africa to see the mountain Gorillas especially if there are special occasions to be witnessed like previously, when a juvenile mountain gorilla leans on the shoulder of an adult male in the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2008.

Also, this is great news for all adventure tourists who seek for great holiday vacations in Africa, Rwanda is the best ideal place to be where you will be able to see a mother mountain gorilla in northern Rwanda which gave birth to twins, a rare occurrence for an endangered species which counts fewer than 800 individuals.” The twins, both of them males, were born Thursday of a mother gorilla called Kabatwa and they are doing well,”. Said Rwandan Development Bureau. More so, According to the pro-government daily New Times, only five previous instances of twins have been recorded in 40 years of monitoring the mountain gorillas in Rwanda.

"It's uncommon among the population of Mountain gorillas rwanda , and very few cases of twins have been documented in the wild or captivity," said Prosper Uwingeli, chief warden at the Volcanoes National Park where the twins were born. He also said that according to a 2010 census, the total number of mountain gorillas has increased by a quarter over the past seven years to reach more than 780 individuals, two thirds of them are found in the Virunga massif, which straddles Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, Mountain gorillas are Rwanda's main tourist attraction one would not miss during a an overnight stay visit to the ‘Land of Thousand Hills” since tracking is more convenient for overnight stay visitors but not Excursionists.
